Over 1 billion! Tianneng Group’s 95,000-ton Lithium Battery Recycling Project is Set to Land!

In response to the national policy of "building an ecological civilization and developing a green economy," Jiangsu Tianneng New Materials Co., Ltd. plans to invest 107,678.67 million yuan to build the waste lithium-ion battery high-value resource recovery and utilization project in the Binhai Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Province. The project will use pre-treatment, thermal acid leaching, and joint extraction technologies to recycle battery materials, improving the technological and equipment levels for recycling waste lithium-ion battery resources, thus achieving multiple goals including metal regeneration, environmental protection, and resource recycling.

According to the report, the project was registered with the Binhai County Administrative Approval Bureau on September 14, 2022 (Project Code: 2207-320922-89-01-105097, Registration Number: Binxing Shen Investment Registration [2022] No. 442). The project aims to achieve an annual processing capacity of 30,000 tons of waste lithium batteries (including 20,000 tons for recycling disposal and 10,000 tons for secondary sorting), producing 10,000 tons of cathode/anode edge scraps, 15,000 tons of electrode/battery material powders, 20,000 tons of nickel hydroxide (a semi-processed product in the battery material chain, excluding hazardous waste), and 20,000 tons of cobalt hydroxide (a semi-processed product in the battery material chain, excluding hazardous waste).

Project Features:

1. This project is a high-value resource recovery and utilization project for waste lithium-ion batteries. The products produced are primarily used as raw materials for the production of ternary lithium batteries and lithium iron phosphate batteries for new energy vehicles. The project also falls under the C4210 category for metal scrap processing and C2613 for inorganic salt manufacturing.

2. The project is located within the industrial land area of the Binhai Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Province. The products produced are functional new materials, aligning with the industrial positioning of the zone.

3. Once completed, the project will recover nickel, cobalt, copper, and manganese, reducing the environmental impact of heavy metals, thus having a positive environmental effect.

Jiangsu Tianneng New Materials Co., Ltd. was registered on February 15, 2022, with a registered capital of 20,000 million yuan. It is located in the Binhai County Economic Development Zone, Jiangsu Province, and primarily engages in the recycling, disposal, and reuse of waste lithium-ion batteries. Jiangsu Tianneng New Materials Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhejiang Tianneng New Materials Co., Ltd.
