ACI Environ is organizing the Study Tour on Battery Recycling in China, from the 16th to the 20th June 2025. We will visit 9 battery recycling plants & equipment vendors that encompass all stages of the battery recycling value chain, from repurposing and pre-processing to material recovery, including the extraction of valuable metals like nickel, cobalt, and lithium. Participants will learn about the technologies and innovations driving the industry, such as selecting the right equipment, improving metal recovery rates, reducing energy use, and minimizing environmental impact.
Additionally, the visit will offer insights into the business models and economic strategies of these companies. By examining these best practices, participants can optimize their own processes and explore opportunities for international collaboration, and position themselves for future success in both domestic and global markets.

17/June
4. Jiangxi Ruida New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
Ruida focuses on the comprehensive recycling and reuse of used power batteries, as well as the research, production, and sales of lithium battery materials. And has established a used lithium battery dismantling line, a nickel-cobalt-manganese-lithium hydrometallurgical recovery line, and plans to build a ternary precursor production line. Established a closed-loop system in its processes, ranging from dismantling, crushing, and smelting to the production of metal salts and ternary precursors.
18/June
5. Ganzhou Jirui New Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
Jirui has established a processing capacity of 100,000 tons of used batteries annually, ranking among the top three in China. Its main products include battery-grade lithium carbonate, iron phosphate, and nickel/cobalt/manganese salts, which are primarily used as raw materials for manufacturing lithium battery cathode materials. Jirui’s technical team has mastered internationally advanced digital synthesis technology for battery-grade lithium carbonate. It is one of the few companies in China with industrial-scale production experience, capable of directly recycling lithium batteries to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate and achieving large-scale sales.
6.Ganzhou Tengyuan Cobalt New Materials Co., Ltd
Tengyuan Cobalt, as a well-established battery materials company, has a presence in global cobalt, nickel, lithium, copper, manganese, and other energy metals, both in natural resources and secondary resources. The company is committed to becoming one of the most competitive enterprises in the new energy battery materials field.
In terms of secondary resource utilization, Tengyuan Cobalt has been planning secondary recycling production lines since 2018. In the same year, it partnered with a globally licensed recycling company to establish a pilot line overseas. In 2022, Tengyuan Cobalt planned to invest 40 million yuan to build a comprehensive recycling project for 30,000 tons of waste lithium batteries annually. As of today, the company’s 15,000-ton comprehensive battery waste recycling production line has been put into operation.
19/June
7. Longnan Ruibo Metal Recycling Resources Co., Ltd.
The facility of Ruibo is designed to process 50,000 tons of spent ternary lithium batteries per year, producing ternary battery powder, copper foil, aluminum foil, and other valuable materials. The project is listed as a nationally encouraged industrial project. It complies with the “Industrial Structure Adjustment Guidance Catalogue (2024 Edition)” under the category of waste recycling and aims to build an intelligent and eco-friendly lithium battery recycling base. Processing flow: Manual sorting → Coarse crushing → Dry pyrolysis → Fine crushing and separation → Tail gas treatment. The facility is equipped with advanced technologies, including an oxygen-free pyrolysis recycling line for battery processing. Core technologies: By using hydrometallurgical refining and proprietary impurity removal technologies, the project achieves high-efficiency recovery of valuable metals such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese. Lithium recovery rate exceeds 90%.
